The Channel Strip Striptool is a virtual channel strip offering various types of digital audio processings. As with a real mixing desk, you may use Striptool on all channels of a multitrack project. All-In-One. Striptool includes everything you need to produce a professional mix : a 4-band parametric EQ, low-pass and high-pass filters, an expander, a de-esser and also input/output level controls. Besides, it features a set of three VU-meters respectively displaying (top to bottom) input level, gain reduction and output level. Minimal CPU Load The fact that we gathered so many different processings in one single plugin allowed us to minimize CPU load in a drastic way. Even on a 500-Mhz Pentium III, you will be able to insert Striptool onto 16 to 24 tracks without overloading your processor. Doing this with a combination of different specialized plugins would be impossible. Level Display Besides the three VU-meters available in the main GUI, Striptool offers a global display of levels. The "DISPLAY METER" button (top left) opens an independent window showing the level meters of all Striptool occurences used in your project. This window is resizeable and can be used as a meter-bridge, like those you would find on a professional console. Sidechainable EQ When pushing the "SIDE CH" button, Striptool allows you to route the EQ's output into the compressor's sidechain controls. This way, you won't hear the equalized sound but, instead, the compressor's behaviour will be affected by it. For example, it will allow you to apply more compression on low frequencies (by increasing them) and/or less compression on high frequencies (by cutting them down). Striptool_V1 Striptool V1 is a freeware plugin aimed at introducing the concept behind Striptool Series. Its functions are limited, yet it allows you to perform very good quality mixes. Very light on processor load and very easy to approach, Striptool V1 is the perfect tool when you want to get into professional mixing progressively (mixing being, to our greatest pleasure, a neverending story). Striptool_V2 Striptool V2 allows you to get to the heart of the matter and start mixing professionally. It features a double 4-band parametric EQ (A and B) and a full-featured compressor (threshold, rate, attack/release levels). On top of that, it features two other - totally essential - filters : high-pass and low-pass filters. Both can have their slope set to 12 or 24 dB per octave. Striptool_V3 Version 3 features the same functions as Striptool V2 but it adds other processings : a de-esser (working in combination with the compressor, as it allows the user to boost the sidechained signal of the frequency to be attenuated); an expander/gate, with two different types of behaviour ("SOFT" button) and allowing you to lower undesired signals when recording drums or working live, for instance. At last, this version's high-pass and low-pass filters can have their slope set to 12, 24 or 36 dB per octave.
